Founded in 1994, Downey Engineering Corp. (DEC) is a full-service marine consulting firm created to provide naval architecture, structural design and analysis, drafting, project management, and production field support. Our reputation for exceptional customer service has not only maintained a base of repeat customers but has also expanded that base to include both domestic and international customers.

Our clients are vessel owners, operators, service providers and shipyards of the commercial, pleasure craft, military, and offshore oil and gas segments of the marine industry. The diversity of our engineering staff along with additional engineering alliances allows us to tailor our services to provide turn-key engineering and project support or to assist in specific project phases. We currently serve our customers from our office in Metairie, Louisiana.
